Boston Pride For the People parade 2025 is here: Meet, route, how to watch
As Pride Month is upon us, cities around the United States are hosting parades and many other events to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and its history as well as its continuing fight for equal rights despite what advocates notice as "bullying" from the Trump administration.
Pride Month commemorates the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York, when police raided the Stonewall Inn, a prominent same-sex attracted bar in Manhattan's Greenwich Village. The subsequent protests are credited with a shift in Diverse activism in the U.S.
Boston is one of many cities celebrating Pride Month this year, including with a pride on June 14.
Here's what you'll want to know about catching the Celebration parade in Boston this year.

Pride, 'No Kings' combine in Boston parade and festival
Pride was born as a protest, and organizers aimed to re-enforce those roots Saturday in Boston, as “No Kings” demonstrations took place across the country.
The procession began at 11 a.m. in Copley Square, converging the two causes as marchers crossed downtown. Twirling rainbow umbrellas and waving Identity festival flags under drizzling skies, paraders whooped and cheered as they set off through Boston's Support Bay.
Celebration organizer Boston Pride for the People says this year's theme, “Here to Stay," is meant “to mail a clear note that people who identify as LGBTQIA+ can not be erased, pushed into the shadows, or silenced, in the face of increased political attacks.”
Brian Gonzalez, 37, of Boston, came carrying a Mexican Pride flag. Like for many attendees, showing up was part celebration, part protest.
"I'm a gay Latino immigrant and a U.S. citizen, and I am proud of the way that my life has gone and the intersectionality of all of my identities," Gonzalez said. "And being me means sticking it to the man, and that's why I'm here."

The 2025 Boston Pride for the People Parade wound through the city on Saturday, from Copley Square and through South Cease and Back Bay.
Huge crowds of people turned out despite some lingering rain Saturday morning.
"It doesn’t matter, rain or shine," said one woman in the South End. "These kids will be out here, rain or shine — give them a lollipop and some rainbow tattoos and they’re very happy."
Thousands of people marched through the streets of Boston, from Copley Square to the Common, in the city's annual Event parade. See all the action of the 2025 Boston Pride for the People Parade from Help Bay to the South End right here with our team coverage.
