Anime gay ships

BL anime - also referred to as boys love or yaoi - is a niche anime genre that focuses on the romantic relationships between male characters. It often has tropes that are unique to the medium - including things like substantial age gaps and power differentials that may not appeal to all readers. While BL, boys love, and yaoi anime aren't for everyone, they garnered a huge tracking for a reason. It's wonderful to have anime with LGBTQ+ and male lover anime relationships at the forefront, and some of those couples are truly fascinating.

But who are the best BL anime couples? That's up to you. From classics like Gravitation to new shows like Hitorijime My Hero, there are plenty of superb BL anime with great couples that are worth rooting for. 

A few of these couples enter from anime with contested designations. Some people would name Yuri on ICE!!! a BL anime because the couple at its center, Victor and Yuri, are both men. Other people consider it isn't BL because it doesn't adhere to certain BL tropes. Depending on your accept on the issue, you might perceive that some of these pairings don't belong on this list. If so, take their presence as another opportunity to celebrate an wonderful couple. 

So, it’s a no-brainer that I love yaoi. It’s gotten to the point where I have to make it unmistakable to those around me that I DON’T JUST Interpret YAOI manga all the time…only most of it. What my love for yaoi does represent is that I do have a lot of alternative ships—many of them being non-canon. Now, these ships are mostly in video games since the ones I possess in the anime/manga I watch/read are usually canon, so I do express regret if the ships in this list are mainly within video games.

It’s not news to anyone that my favorite game franchise of all moment is the Ace Attorney series. In fact, I am excited for the release of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. With that being said, I absolutely love the Edgeworth x Wright Ship. They are absolutely adorable as friends but, of course, there are moments where you just wish there was more.
