As part of "The Talk's" secret-spilling week, the cohost joint the emotional story about becoming notified of her sexuality while dating Johnny Galecki back in the "Roseanne" days, and the apprehension she felt--and still feels--about it possibly interfereing with her career.
"So, some of you may understand, that when I was a teenager I dated Johnny Galecki for a little while, who played my partner and husband on 'Roseanne.' And I thought he was super cute and had a total crush on him and we started dating and he would come over and we would make out and then I would start to receive depressed," she said.

"Johnny felt poorly, I think, and started to get it personally and didn't know what was going on. So I eventually told him that I thought it was about my sexuality and he was super adorable about it."

Gilbert made the heartfelt confession about her sexuality Thursday as part of secret-spilling week on "The Talk," People magazine noted. She began by depicting how she dated Galecki as a teenager back in the 1990s while filming "Roseanne."
"I idea he was super cute and had a total crush on him," she said. "We started dating and he would approach over and we would create out, and then I would start to get depressed. Johnny felt badly, I think, and started to take it personally and didn't understand what was going on. So I eventually told him that I reflection it was about my sexuality, and he was super nice about it."
After the two had split up, the actress began dating a woman, 18 years her senior, who was also in the public eye. She didn't want it to get out, for fear it would damage her career, and Galecki kept it a private. Even up until recently, when she got engaged to player Linda Perry in April, the 38-year-old continued to worry about what these personal revelations could mean.

But Sara Gilbert, 38, Thursday brought up her emotional reveal that is still ongoing.
The former "Roseanne" star talked about dating her co-star on the show, Johnny Galecki, when she started to realize she was gay.
