Gay bl anime
From my memory, it always felt enjoy BL anime existed as a genre for as prolonged as I can remember. Before BL dramas or movies became mainstream, BL animes and mangas were like the first frontier, depicting male romances in fiction even when it was taboo in society.
In anime, the BL genre is closely akin to yaoi or shounen ai, which are labels that describe a very similar type of story. Yaoi is more explicit, shounen ai is more innocent, and BL tends to be the best of both worlds. This genre is a popular niche among certain demographics. I don't love using the term fujoshi, which has somewhat negative connections. Let's just say that people with fine taste usually monitor BL animes!
Despite its long history, there is surprisingly not a lot of anime to monitor in this genre. Trust me, I've done my investigate on this topic, searching high and low for some BL anime recommendations. You'd be amazed and disappointed at how little the selection there is compared to all the other genres.
And since the selection is so tiny, this makes it even harder for a good anime series to approach along. As unique as they may be, there're still some excellent options. BL Watcher has consumed them all and

Boys' Love — also famous as "BL" or "Yaoi" — is a distinct genre of anime that focuses on romantic relationships between two male characters. Though it's a niche part of anime as a whole, BL has always been popular among certain groups. With the normalization of LGBTQ+ visibility in anime, the genre has become more accepted than ever and has even hit the mainstream in some cases.
BL has a notorious reputation for many, due to its often problematic depiction of queer couples. Luckily, many modern titles portray much healthier relationship stories, such as titles like Given or Sasaki and Miyano. However, that doesn't represent there aren't any wonderful old BL stories as well. Either way, the genre is full of wonderful titles that newcomers are sure to enjoy.

TV, 2008, 12 eps Me:-Author:8 An older reveal but a good one, I’d say that there are a lot of controversial problems with this series so you were warned. However, the main couple I find are adorable. TV, 2011, 12 eps Me:-Author:7 This series is a lot of fun and is written by the same person who did Junjou Romantica. It’s a less problematic series in my opinion but it’s still has some dubious consent. I
