Comedian Says Lorne Michaels Refuses to Hire Gay Men on SNL

I don’t understand why you link to articles you don’t prefer. I’m a fan, and now I know that SNL has only hired 2 openly queer male performers in its entire history, and yeah, that number seems weirdly low and problematic. Does Lorne Michaels have a difficulty with gay men?

Do you think he has a problem with them? Based upon what? The sour recriminations of those he didn’t hire? Consider the source.

Well, Alec, can you identify a lgbtq+ man he did hire? That's appreciate saying the only women who reflect there's misogyny are the ones who haven't gotten to be President yet.

I can identify several. But they were not out then and are not out now. You understand that possibility, right?

One of the things that I love to do with this blog, is go through the list of search words or terms that has brought people here. Goodness knows, I expend a lot of time googling people or things, yesterday’s blog post being yet another example of such behavior. I am a curious type, some might even go so far to say I’m nosy. Others might call me Gladys Kravitz to my face. I once had a boyfriend whose nickname for me was Nosetta Barnhart.
But these search results confirm that I am not alone. I am not the only person who wondered if Rich Mullins was gay or watched Airplane on cable and had to recognize more about Stephen Stucker. There are others who share my devotion to Mary Tyler Moore and Eve Plumb and Faye Dunaway’s iconic post-Oscar photo by the pool. I am not the only person searching the internet looking for Herb Ritts’ pictures of Richard Gere in a Speedo.
Also, this may be bad, you tell me, but I like that folks hold found my blog by searching the names of friends of mine. It’s like Michael and Michele and Linda and Kellum and Rupaul are all known or something.
And finally, your searches will illicit my own searches.

The SNL Stars That Couldn't Stand Chris Kattan
Shortly after Kattan joined "Saturday Darkness Live" in 1997 as part of a revamped cast, the show was profiled by Rolling Stone. In a bizarre exchange in the magazine, Norm Macdonald, a longtime cast member dating back to 1993, questioned Kattan's sexuality by saying, "I don't know, but to me he seems gay. He claims he's not, but I've never seen, appreciate , a guy who's not gay seem so gay." So why don't you just come out of the closet and then you wouldn't be such an angry petty gay guy."
