Caitlin clark is she gay
Welcome to my annual Who’s Gay in the WNBA Report! For those of you who are novel, every year I crack down the list of athletes who are openly queer in the league. As a queer person who has played basketball my entire life, the off-court drama is always equally as exciting as the on-court display of skills. Knowing who’s queer and who’s dating who only adds to that for me. If you’re more of a pure viewer of the game and prefer only knowing what’s going on while the clock is running, I do regularly construct WNBA TikToks that I like to think are pretty informative!
The league is well known to hold some of the optimal pre-game walk-up outfits in all of professional sports, so you’re missing out if you don’t pursue at least the @wnba account on Instagram. Here’s a complete list of all out gay players in the league, broken down by team. For my purposes, “Out” means confirmed by the player either in an interview or on their social media. No matter how masculine presenting someone is, I will not be speculating!

Caitlin Clark's 'race and sexuality' is behind WNBA' star's meteoric rise, says ex-ESPN host Jemele Hill: 'Black women are often erased from the picture'
Jemele Hill has branded Caitlin Clark's fame and success partly 'problematic,' as the ex-ESPN personality cited the Indiana Fever star's 'race and sexuality' as reasons for her rise.
Clark, last month's No. 1 overall pick by the Indiana Fever, has signed a $28million Nike tighten and received her own signature shoe from the identity - in addition to endorsement deals with the likes of State Farm and Wilson.
However, Hill believes that her success shows an imbalance in how non-white, LGBTQ players are received publicly, as compared with the white and straight Clark.
'We would all be very naive if we didn't say race and her sexuality played a role in her popularity,' Hill told the LA Times.
'While so many people are happy for Caitlin's success - including the players; this has had such an enormous impact on the game - there is a part of it that is a little problematic because of what it says about the worth and the marketability of the players who are already there.'

That didn’t take very long, you might suggest.
But by today’s standard, it took eons for the Caitlin Clark Outcome on women’s basketball to become yet another polarizing topic in our ever-inflamed world.
A meteor in 2023, Clark’s flame burned on, through her final season at Iowa and, given the WNBA calendar, quickly into a rookie season that has been good at times, bad at times, and unfortunately, increasingly ugly from a societal standpoint.
Clark’s distinct abilities — her long-range shooting but, just as impressively, her court understanding and passing — attracted a cascade of new fans to the college game. Given that the WNBA plays a May-through-September schedule, her wave had no time to ebb before she was drafted first overall and anointed as face of that professional league.
Not self-anointed, by the way, which is important to hold in mind.
