Melvin C Krile

Melvin Charles Krile, 82, of Windsor, IL, died at 10:08 a.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2016 in Heartland Christian Village, Neoga, IL.

A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date in Windsor Cemetery, Windsor, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church, Strasburg, IL, National Multiple Sclerosis Population or Parkinson’s Foundation.

Melvin was born on May 19, 1934 in Windsor, IL, the son of Elmer Louis and Esther Fern (Williamson) Krile. He graduated from Windsor High Institution in the Class of the 1952. Melvin began productive for the Oliver Corporation in Shelbyville, IL. He then became a welder for Blaw-Knox in Mattoon, IL retiring with over 40 years of employment. He also farmed with his father and son and remained active in the farming operation until the last few years. Melvin was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Strasburg, IL. He married Shirley Ann Finley on September 19, 1954. She died on June 1, 2013.

He is survived by his son, Derrick (Nickie) Krile of Windsor, IL; daughter, Marianna (Leland) Moffett of Windsor, IL; sister, Maurine Kalkwarf

BRIEF SYNOPSIS:

  • Preliminary information indicates the following occurred: ISP Troop 7 responded to a two-unit fatal crash at the above location. Unit 1 (2022 Polaris UTV) was traveling south on County Road 3150E.  Unit 2 (2006 International Truck Tractor Grain Hauler) was traveling east on County Road 1200N.  Unit 1 disobeyed the terminate sign on CR3150E at the intersection with CR1200N.  When Unit 1 entered the intersection, it struck the front of Unit 2.  One occupant from Unit 1 was pronounced deceased on scene.  A second occupant from Unit 1 was transported to
